Camping with the Hepplers

Our camping trip with the Hepplers was off to a rough start but ended wonderfully! On friday Dustin went out to start his truck and he only made it around the block before bringing it home and saying it wasn't running right. He then took my van to work and was going to come home a little early to figure out what was wrong. During the day I packed everything up and was set to go for when Dus arrived home. We then spent the next 4 hours staring under the hood of the truck pulling at the spark plug wires. Finally we decided that we should take it in to the professionals! It was in the shop for another hour before we recieved a call saying it was the fuel pump that was out and it would cost us around $700. This is about the time I started crying! All the packing for nothing!!! Well we decided we didn't want to pay that and so we took the truck home and stopped by the auto store where we picked up a $200 fuel pump. Then with Cameron in charge of the younger two Dustin and I spent the next three hours under the truck removing the gas tank and replacing the fuel pump. By the time we finished it was after 10:30 and we were covered in oil, gas, and grime. We got the camper all hooked up to the truck though and decided to head out to the campsite where are friends had been waiting for us all day! We arrived at 1:00ish and went straight to bed. The next morning we spent the day hiking to the falls, sliding down rocks, blowing bubbles, and having a party for Marie's birthday!

That evening we cooked smores. Just look at the boys hands though! I can not believe I allowed them to eat with that dirty of hands!!! At the time I guess I just did not pay close enough attention but seeing the pictures grossed me out! They wern't bothered by it though!
We then went swimming the next day at Fairmont Hot Springs. The kids loved it even Lucas who was only 5 weeks at the time. Cameron and Dustin went down the water slide which made Ethan very upset. He really wanted to do it too! Next year! All in all we had a great camping trip. I can't wait to do it again! Oh yea....see the last picture....notice Ethan grabbing himself....well he kept grabbing at himself for a while and finally I went to check to see if he may have had a rash or something....instead I found three jolly rancher candies....still in the wrapper...shoved down his underwear. He must have found them when he went into the bathroom and knowing I wouldn't let him have them he shoved them in the only hiding place he thought was safe! What a little sneak he is!

Park Play

After Cam's baseball event it was still such a beautiful day and so I took the kids to the park to play. This is the same park Dustin and I use to come to in highschool! Dylan choose to dodge swings (pretending they were blades swinging) and to "catch" bees. He has to take after Papa with the bee killing....luckily he hasn't been stung yet this year! Why he chooses to do these things at the park instead of play is beyond me but hey he loves it so....who am I to complain! Another side note.....about 15 minutes after coming to the park....the skies turned black and we made it to the car just in time! I am really ready for nice weather all day!!!!

Baseball Awards

Cameron's school had a baseball theme reading program for the month of May. All the kids kept track of how much they read and then recieved prizes at the end of the month and got to go to the Bandits baseball field for lunch and play. Cameron read over 700 minutes for the month of May! We were very proud of him and enjoyed getting to meet some of his new friends. Dustin was able to meet us there for lunch too and so it was a great day! Little side note....just look at those mountains! Arn't they gorgeous!!!!

Track and Field

Cameron had field day at school. It looked like it was going to be a beautiful day of it but then after only three events, the skis got dark and the clouds were moving in fast! We had walked and therefore had to leave quickly and made it home just seconds before it rained! Cameron was having a lot of fun though but was a little dissapointed that he didn't get the chance to do the rest of the events! Next year!

Music teacher

Ok I just had to share this! I came across this picture of me with my first grade teacher....she is the same teacher Cameron has for music! And so the night of his performance I had to get a picture of the two of them. Cameron thought it was great that he has one of the same teachers as I use to have!

School Program

Cameron had a school performance last week. It was a camp theme and they sang songs and preformed little skits. Cam was a bug catcher and had a few lines that he said along with a couple other kids. He did a great job and although it was suppose to be outside....the school did a great job of having us all bring lawn chairs and blankets and we "camped" out in the gym. I wasn't able to get too many pictures only because I planned for outdoor pictures instead of indoor! Cameron is located on the top row under the P and the second picture is of him and his teacher. The spots on his face are paint to look like calamine lotion!

Outside

Just a few pictures of the boys outside in our yard. We got the boys the new 3d chalk and Dylan was so excited to "have his imagination come to life"! Sometimes I don't know where he comes up with things! We also got them a sand/water table which has become the home to all the worms that Dylan can find (he has been digging holes all over the yard....he now has to come inside anytime I see him doing it). Kylee is finally getting use to having to be on a leash everytime she goes outside but she still is the biggest chicken every time anything new is out there!

River Fun

We have spent a lot of evenings and/or weekends down at the river. It is a great place for the boys to be boys. Dustin enjoys the fishing until the boys start throwing rocks! And I enjoy just being able to sit and relax! We have not been able to go though for the last few weeks because it has been constantly raining here! Ok maybe not constantly but it feels like it!!! The rivers have been flooding and this spot we were at, we have not been able to go back to yet because the river is too high to get there. I can't wait until we have one day without rain!!!! Although the rain is better then cold snow!

Cameron's Birthday

Cameron's 8th birthday went great. He only had a family birthday since we were in the middle of moving and changing schools. It was his choice to do this and we still plan on taking him to the hot springs also. He got some great gifts though and his cake although was not the one I wanted turned out ok. We had ordered online some surprise Zelda figures so that I could make his special cake....they didn't arrive on time and therefore I had to run all around town trying to find something that would work....we ended up using a picture from his wii zelda game and had it printed on edible frosting (I even got the store to put a bean in it)!. He loved it which was good and he recieved the figures a few days later which made his day....they were being sent from China and thats why they took so long! All in all though he had a great birthday....our baby is growing up!
