First Day of School

Boys first day of school. Cameron is now in the 4th grade and Dylan is in 1st. Both boys were very excited to go back again and see all their friends. Dylan's backpack was almost as big as he was though!

Maine

We took a wonderful end of the summer trip to Maine with my parents. The boys loved getting to see a different kind of beach from NC and FL. We enjoyed a weekend walking the beach, playing in the waves, fishing, exploring the towns, and catching tons of crabs! It was a perfect way to end the summer.

We treated ourselves to a night of lobsters! The boys each picked out their very own and two out of three ate the whole thing!

One day we went down to the docks and let the boys catch crabs with bait and string. They loved it! With each pull in at least 5 crabs came up too. Dylan was grabbing them with his hands and yelling ouch ouch ouch as it pinched him the entire time. He wouldn't stop though and continued to grin and grab the next one. I think us adults had just as much fun watching the kids expressions as they had catching them! (Notice the way Dad made sure Ethan didn't fall in!)

These were all the crabs caught! We had filled an entire cooler and then let them go all at once. I think we gathered the biggest crowd to watch the crabs fight their way back into the water. There were over 200 crabs!

Crab races! The guys caught crabs while trying to fish and the boys decided to have races with them to see who's crab could make it back to the ocean the fastest!
