Heppler Home

Just had to post a couple pictures from the Heppler home! We played cards almost the whole time....I just love Maries face in this one and Mark waaaabang!!! The second picture Marie took and I just laugh so hard at my face that I had to share it and the third picture is for you Dad....Mark had his turkeys trained to come right up to the door! I am sure we could of had them walk right through the front door and into the oven too!

Halloween night

We went up to the Heppler home to spend Halloween weekend. The boys had all decided on their costumes months ago but of course I waited until the night before to get things done. Cameron was Link from Zelda (a nintendo video game) and his costume had to be made from scratch. He had told me for month that all I needed was a green tshirt and I just went along with it and every day he kept asking if I finished his costume....well on Wednesday I finally decided I better go get this green t shirt and of course by this time no stores had green tshirts! I finally found one at a used store and then came home only to finally take a close look at the costume and realize it was a lot more detailed then I had thought. On thursday I headed back into Bozeman to find the rest of the things I would need to complete his costume and that evening spent my time cutting and sewing x's on the shirt, creating a sword carrier, belt and hat. He was very excited waking up Friday to find his costume done (I don't think he believed me when I said I would get it done in time)! The costume never came off for the whole weekend. Dylan had picked out a dinosaur costume and so his was done...easy! Ethan had just wanted to be the same monkey he was last year....I continued to have problems with this and just wanted something new and so planned on turning his wagon into a cage so that he could be a circus monkey. This idea was shot down by a stubborn three year old saying "peoples just don't put monkeys in cages and he would not go in it"! So on Friday Dustin mentioned Diddy Kong and so with a happy Ethan we ran into town to find the items I needed to make his monkey costume into Diddy Kong. Last minute decision too Dustin and I decided to dress up and so again Dustins idea was for us to be Westley and Buttercup from Princess Bride. Next year I might just have to start planning a little earlier...it was a little crazy waiting until last minute....but then again thats me! All in all though we had a great night! The Hepplers took us trunk or treating and their costumes were amazing! Marie made them all without a pattern...she is so good! And I have to agree with her 100% when she says that every day Moms should wear crowns. When you are surrounded by all boys a crown just is really needed! We ended up wearing them for most of the weekend when we played cards!

Carving Pumpkins

We had two days of pumpkin fun! The first night we just had the boys draw on their small pumpkins. The second night, we had the boys carve their second pumpkins. Each boy was allowed to carve their own and after a long time of them doing it by themselves, they finally turned to Dustin for help. This was the first year I could not convince any of the boys to make a happy pumpkin. They all wanted scary mean ones (especially Ethan who kept coming up to us making his scary face that he wanted his pumpkin to have)! I have to also explain Cameron's hair....I know Dee you are just wondering about it! My wonderful neighbor sells professional hair care products to different salons. She had a lot of extra stuff she was trying to get rid of and brought it all over to me....without thinking about what we were planning to do later in the day....I tried some of the hair glue on Cameron! First of all Camerons hair has grown too long to try spiking it and second of all the hair glue is just that...instantly when putting it in his hair it froze into place and you could not even slightly move it! Luckily it could wash out but we still had to do pumpkins first....so I had to let him look the way he does! Oh ya and Ethans hair...well it just does that on its own and there is no getting it to stick down! Gotta love it!

Pumpkin Patch

For the second year, we have taken the boys to the pumpkin patch in Bozeman. Dylan also went with his class and because of this had picked out a pumpkin with them. Dustin and I decided that this year we would get each boy two pumpkins....one to carve and one just to draw on. The boys had a fun time riding the wagon to the field of pumpkins, picking out their special pumpkins, and then playing in the hay mazes. Although the wind was blowing quite a bit, we had a great family day. And yes this year Dylan had to be different again with his pumpkin....you will see what I mean in the pictures to come!

Popcorn sales

As most of you already know, Cameron made his popcorn selling goal of $2,500 and won first place for top seller in Belgrade. Cam recieved many prizes and we were so so so proud of all of his hard work! He deserved every bit of attention he got for it!

Flag

For cub scouts, Cameron got the opportunity to join in the flag ceremony. The pack learned all about the handling of the American flag, how to take it down, and how to fold it properly. They then went out and took down the flag. Cameron was in charge of pulling the rope to get the flag down and he took his job very seriously. He did such a great job!

Bath Time

Just a couple quick picts of bath time fun! The boys had been piling bubbles up and having a lot of fun. Cameron no longer takes baths....it won't be long before the other two only shower too! So I had to get these picts while I still could!

Geocaching

Dustin was trying to find something fun for our family to do and he came across geocaching. The boys thought it was a great idea since it reminded them of being pirates and finding buried treasure! We ended up going to four different locations and traveled from Belgrade to Churchill then Manhattan and then back to Belgrade (we went in a loop). Two of the "loot" boxes had us just sign our names which Cameron has decided we are "The Goonies". One of the other ones had a scooby doo treasure inside (we are having to go back to this one since we didn't have a scooby doo trading item). The last one was filled with a variety of different things. We ended up trading a cross neclace for an American flag pin. The boys really wanted to go to more but that was all we had written down the coordinates for and so we will have to do the rest another day! We were surprised at how many were in our area and can't wait for next time!

First day of school!

Dylan had a great first day of school. He is such a story teller though sometimes its hard to tell what things actually happened and what he is making up. He is getting better at saying...that one was just a story. For example in the car, he began telling me about how he met the principal and that the principals name was John....Principal John. Now I wasn't sure if this was true or not since I didn't know the principals first name so I was going along with it asking if he knew the last name....Dylan stated that Principal John was his only name....then changed it to that John was actually the principals imaginary friend...he finally was like actually I am telling you a story....but we truely did meet the principal, I just don't know his name! Where does he come up with things!!!! Anyway his first day was great and according to him has made hundreds of friends and even made friends with the older kids on the playground. I truely believe this one (ok maybe not hundreds but in a childs eyes it probably feels like it). Dylan is very social and goes up to anyone and everyone and says.....lets play. We have now worries about him making friends, its the being quiet in class that he will have problems with!!!

Cameron had a great first week of school. He loves his teacher and is making some friends....he even thinks a few of the girls are cute and knows that they like him! I still cannot believe we have a 3rd grader!!!!! His favorite things are still science related and he still struggles with math. His reading though is way over his grade level and his favorite books are the Narnia series. He has finished two of them and is half way through the third one. He reads every night before going to bed and we have finally had to have a clock near him so he can make sure he doesn't go over his bed time (he would read all night long otherwise!) We are very proud of the little man he is turning into. He has a heart of gold!!! On Dylan's first day of school Cameron went to Dylans classroom after school to make sure Dylan was ok and could find me. He did this without being asked to and I was surprised he had even remembered his brother had gone to school! Ethan actually did very good with his brothers leaving and is now loving the days they are both in school....he gets to play with all the toys and not have anyone tell him what to do!!! My days are easy when it is just him....he goes off to a corner and plays for hours!
