Christmas Cookies

We had one evening where we were able to make a few cookies with the boys. We didn't make many but just enough to leave a couple for Santa. The boys loved it....especially Ethan who kept sneaking some licks of the frosting!

Thanksgiving

The Desaulniers came up for Thanksgiving and we had a wonderful time visiting and having not only Thanksgiving together but Christmas in November. It was a short weekend (which Dustin and I had to work most of) but it was good getting to see everyone and the kids had a great time together.

Studio tests

I have finally gotten good lights (not cheap e-bay shocking lights). And my studio is finally set up (except for decorations and I am in need of some new backdrops....but those will come with time). For those of you that arn't aware yet....I have turned my parents walk in basement into a studio. There is a room for dressing, a bathroom, a sitting/waiting room, and then the studio room. It has really turned out nice and I am now open for business once again (although I have been busy with Santa pictures since the end of November and all of December....but have gotten a lot of good publicity and many people requesting portraits taken....so we will see).

NYC

Dustin and I went to NYC for 3 days 2 nights at the beginning of November. It was the first time being away from the boys over night and it felt like a second honeymoon! We went there for a photographers convention which was was wonderful. I gained a lot of insight on new techniques, great printers, album companies, and so much more. We had time to do a little sightseeing too since it was the first time either of us had been to NYC. We walked all over Manhattan . We stayed at the New Yorker Hotel (26th floor...which for me was kinda scary since I hate being up high...it was beautiful though and I did spend a lot of time shooting out the window!) We saw the Empire State Building, Times Square, Statue of Liberty, Ground Zero, and hundreds of people speaking every language imaginable! We really had a good time but felt like fish out of water...city life is definitely not for us but we would go back to visit in a heart beat!
