Kite Flying

The boys each got a kite for Easter and so we went yesterday and tried to fly them down at the ponds. Dylan lasted all of five minutes and then went back to the car because he was so cold. Ethan didn't care about the cold and was loving watching his kite fly and then fall to the ground. Cameron finally got his kite up just to get it tangled in the kite I had which was already tangled in Ethans kite and once we had a great big knot of kites and were all freezing we headed for home. The whole event probably took 10 minutes at the most!!!

Tap Tap

We didn't get to play tap tap until the day after Easter. So far I have the winning egg! I will let you know though who the final winner is!!!!

Easter Day

For Easter, the boys woke up at normal time (Cam and Dylan were up before Ethan and had to wait patiently for him to wake up). The boys then all spent about 1/2 hour finding eggs and their baskets. Ethan found a lot of the very hard ones (one hidden in the light, one in the arm of a coat, and one balanced on the top of a door). Cameron was very good at leaving the easy ones for Dylan. We had around 100 eggs hidden and so there was plenty for each boy to find! This was the first year Ethan was really into finding the eggs and not just eating the candy (although as soon as all the eggs were found the candy was dug into quickly). We then had our traditional cinnamon rolls and then headed to church where they put on a play. We then went to Vanessa's house for an Easter lunch/dinner. On our way home we stopped by the river and went for a walk and then came home and relaxed the rest of the day.

Egg Coloring

After the egg hunts, we came home and dyed eggs. Ethan's eggs all turned out pretty much the same (it took him two seconds to scribble on it and then he was ready for the next one). Cameron really took his time and ended up with an egg with a cross on it, a Zelda egg, and one that had neat designs all over it. He then got into tie dying his eggs like I was doing and stopped the coloring on them first. Dylan just had fun with it all and loved being able to write his own name on every egg. Dustin and I only did our one special egg each and one egg together. The rest we left for the boys to do! This is the first year we had none broken while coloring them!

Easter Egg Hunt

The boys got to go to two different Easter egg hunts. We had to split into two groups; Dustin went with Cameron and I stayed with the younger two (lucky they were in the same group or I am not sure how we would have worked it). Ethan really got into it and dashed off when they said go. Dylan hung back and stayed pretty close to me. Dylan was also the one that had to explain to any kid that was near him how there was no way for the Easter Bunny to be real, because after all he was the same height as a person and there is no way a bunny could grow that big or walk like that! I had to keep hushing him up! What happened to 4 year olds just believing! He has to analyze everything.

Dustin's Birthday

Dustin had a very good 30th birthday. The boys and I made a sign that we hung up in the livingroom. Cameron created a game where he made us each an airplane and we had to try hitting the balloons with it. The boys wanted to get Dustin a webkinz and so now he has his own deer named dinner! Instead of cake we had brownies. I still managed to put a bean in it and for the first time it was the very last piece that had it. We all split the prize!

Dylan's Easter Party

Dylan's preschool had an Easter party that Ethan got to go to also. Both boys had fun playing games, making an art project, and eating a lot of goodies! The eating was Ethan's favorite part! They both came home on a sugar high but had a lot of fun.

Ethan Birthday

Ethan turned 3!!! We celebrated it twice, once at home and once at Vanessa's house. I made him a truck and plane cake since we couldn't find the stuff for Buzz Lightyear. Ethan loved all of his birthday gifts and unwrapped them faster then I could take pictures! We got some of that silly string stuff and the boys had a good time spraying our entire yard with it. The big news that came with Ethan's 3rd birthday is.....no more diapers!!!! We no longer have a baby in the house, only three big guys!

Circus

Dylan's preschool put on a wonderful circus performance for all of the parents. Dustin was able to come to it and we loved watching Dylan bark like a seal, eat "fish" that were thrown to him, and balance a "ball" on his nose. He had a lot of fun with it and had to keep his face paint on all day!

Elkhorn Hot Springs

Dustin and I went away for the weekend to Elkhorn. We had a very nice relaxing time soaking in the natural hot water springs and snowmobiling through the mountains. We only tipped the snowmobile twice! I would recommend this location to anyone that wants a cheap getaway! We loved it and have promised the boys a trip back there this summer.
